What’s Writing???

Hiiii… yeah. So, I haven’t been the most productive when it comes to seriously short and I’m trying really, really hard not to actually hate myself for it. The self hatred doesn’t really work anyway, does it? I listened to my girl Amie McNee and her hubby’s podcast Unpublished the other day and they had an episode called Discovering Your Own Pace and it was an “aha” moment for me. The big question was: what is my pace? Investigate my own pace.

And although I wouldn’t necessarily call not working for days at a time a pace, I do know that this was all part of me looking into what works. My husband takes our baby in the mornings so that I can be in my office bashing my head against the keyboard/writing and then on the weekends we take turns sleeping in, so I don’t get my usual office time, which means that I usually don’t even open my manuscript on those days. I’ve been realizing that because of that, it takes me a day or two (or three…) to get back into the swing of things. So, instead of trying to put so much into the weekdays and nothing on the weekends, I think I’m going to have to spread it even further and just kind of use an hour or two every single day to open the document, look through it, read through it, write notes, actually write… etc. Let’s see how this works out from here on out!

Hope this makes sense because I’m not going back to edit this post :) Love you byyyyyeeee.
